Information on this page refers to the ACBL's F2F tournaments in the first two years of post-COVID play; that is, tournaments that started in October 2021 through September 2023.

Tournament data here is primarily compared to the same pre-COVID events (same location, same time of year).  You can find the more current information (including the latest ACBL tournament table count data with year-over-year comparisons) by clicking here.

      Here's a look at the 145 Open regionals from the reopening of F2F tournaments in October 2021 through mid-August 2023.*  The comparative table count percentage for each quarter's tournament tables (to the same events in 2019 or 2020) has been on the rise every three months.  (Slowly - but in the right direction.)

*These are the 145 Open regionals through this time period with pre-COVID tournaments available for comparisons - some regionals did not have comparable events with which to compare.  
How have these open regionals been doing since Detroit MI held the first post-COVID regional in October of 2021?  If broken down by three-month periods (above) isn't enough, the graph to the right has open regional table counts for each month since October 2021 (up until now) and how the monthly figure corresponds to those same pre-COVID tournaments held three years earlier.  There's a bit of up and down, as you would expect, but the general trend is on the upward side - even if not as steep as one might like.      
ACBL Regional Tournaments here in the 2nd QTR of 2023 and their comparative table counts to the most recent pre-COVID same event in the same location (either 2019 or 2020, unless specified otherwise).
